Luis Aguilar
Luis Aguilar Manzo (1918–1997) was a celebrated Mexican actor and singer who rose to prominence during the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. Known affectionately as “El Gallo Giro,” he captivated audiences with his commanding presence and vocal talent. Aguilar was born in Hermosillo, Sonora, and made his breakthrough as a leading man in the 1944 film *Sota, Caballo y Rey*. His career is highlighted by memorable performances in classics such as *El 7 leguas* (1955) and *El látigo negro* (1958), which solidified his status as a beloved figure in Mexican film and television.
In his personal life, Aguilar had two daughters, Anna Luisa and Martha Fernanda, from his first marriage. He later married actress Rosario Galvez, with whom he had a son, Luis Aguilar Doblado. After a long and fruitful career, Aguilar passed away peacefully in his sleep on the night of October 23–24, 1997, leaving behind a rich legacy in Mexican entertainment.
