Javier Valdés

Javier Fernando Valdés Garrido Lecca, born June 10, 1959, in Lima, is a distinguished Peruvian actor and theater director whose career spans decades. His artistic path began early, nurtured by influential mentors like Adolfo Chuiman and Gustavo Bueno during his school years at Santa Margarita. Even as a teenager, he stepped onto the television screen in *Teatro de Pepe Vilar*, playing the son of actress Mabel Duclós.

Seeking to refine his craft, Valdés traveled to Spain, where he studied acting at Madrid’s Cristina Rota School. This training deepened his versatility and later informed his teaching, as he now leads acting workshops for emerging performers. His television debut in soap operas came with *Solo por ti*, a role he chose after turning down a co-starring part in *Bajo tu Piel*. He went on to appear in beloved productions such as *Canela* and *Luz María*, solidifying his presence in Latin American television.
