Gazo

Ibrahima Diakité, known professionally as Gazo, is a French rapper of Guinean heritage born on August 5, 1994. His early life was marked by hardship: placed in an educational home at age 11, he left school by 15 and later lived between Saint-Denis and the streets without identity papers. He first rapped under the name Bramsou, forming Barrodeur Music with neighborhood friends, before adopting "Gazo"—a nickname for trusted people in his community—as he shifted toward drill music.

After posting tracks on YouTube, he caught the attention of Gims, who invited him onto a joint track for the album *Le Fléau*. Gazo's mixtape *Drill FR* arrived on February 26, 2021, topping the French Albums Chart, while its single "Haine&Sex" hit number 2 on the French Singles Chart and later earned diamond certification. Often called "The Prince of French Drill," Gazo is credited—by producer Flem KGB and French rap fans alike—with crafting a distinctive sound that draws on UK and US drill while remaining uniquely his own. His 2021 collaboration with Tiakola produced a platinum single, followed by two more in 2022.
