Tony Merle
Tony Merle (born October 31, 1979) is an Indonesian musician and film score composer known for his versatile contributions to both the music and film industries. Together with close associates Bemby Gusti and Aghi Narottama, he co-founded Rooftopsound, a collective dedicated to composing, arranging, and producing original music for commercials, films, and television. The group has become a notable force in Indonesian sound production, crafting scores that bridge contemporary and cinematic styles.
Beyond his collaborative work, Merle serves as the guitarist for the punk-influenced band The Brandals, a group recognized for their energetic performances and distinctive sound. He also forms one half of the duo The Spouse alongside his wife, singer-songwriter Aimee Saras, where the pair explores more intimate and melodic musical territory.
Merle’s career highlights include scoring for acclaimed Indonesian films such as *The Raid* and *The Raid 2*, which brought him international recognition for his tense, percussive compositions. His work on *Headshot* and *The Night Comes for Us* further solidified his reputation in action cinema.
