Rickard Söderberg
Rickard Söderberg has built a reputation for his compelling performances across baroque, Mozart, and Wagnerian repertoire, taking on roles such as Idomeneo, Don Ottavio, Lurcanio, Oronte, and Loge. Earlier in his career, he also starred as Count Almaviva, Lensky, Rodolfo, and Don José.
In 2005, Söderberg led a modern production of Johann Christian Bach’s *Temistocle*. That same summer, he made his debut at Sweden’s historic Drottningholm Palace Theatre, singing Oronte in *Alcina* alongside Anne Sofie von Otter and Christine Schäffer. He took the title role in Monteverdi’s *L’Orfeo* in 2007 and later starred in Haydn’s *Orlando* in 2012.
In 2011, he performed Loge in Värmlandsoperan’s production of Wagner’s *Ring* cycle. At Malmö Opera, he sang Idomeneo opposite Malena Ernman. His other roles span *The Rake’s Progress*, *Dialogues des Carmélites*, *Madama Butterfly*, *The Tales of Hoffmann*, *The Magic Flute*, *Don Giovanni*, *Elias*, and Britten’s *Let’s Make an Opera*.
Beyond the opera stage, Söderberg gained wider recognition in 2013 as a choir leader on TV4’s *Körslaget*, finishing third. In 2015, he and Elize Ryd competed in Melodifestivalen with a duet, aiming for Eurovision, but did not qualify. The following year, he appeared as a contestant on TV4’s *Let’s Dance*.
