Kausalya, originally named Kavitha and also known by the stage name Nandini, is an accomplished Indian actress and model renowned for her versatile performances in Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam cinema. Her journey in the film industry began in the late 1990s, marking her as a prominent figure in South Indian movies.

Kausalya made her acting debut in the Kannada film *Hoomale* (1998), which earned her critical acclaim and a Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Kannada. She quickly gained recognition for her compelling screen presence and emotive acting style. One of her standout performances came in the Tamil film *Kandukondain Kandukondain* (2000), an adaptation of Jane Austen's *Sense and Sensibility*, where she starred alongside celebrated actors like Mammootty and Ajith Kumar.
