Danger Lights (1931)

Dan, a railroad foreman with a face as rough as his reputation is solid, discovers a drifter stranded by a landslide. He offers the man work, soon learning he's a former railroader and taking him on as a protégé. Engaged to Mary, Dan remains oblivious to the spark igniting between her and his new hire, his focus fixed entirely on keeping the trains running.
