The Commandant's Shadow (2024)

Hans Jurgen Höss grew up in comfort at his family's villa in Auschwitz, while Jewish prisoner Anita Lasker-Wallfisch fought for survival in the horrific concentration camp. Eight decades later, they meet in a groundbreaking encounter in Anita’s London living room. This intimate gathering marks the first time a descendant of a prominent war criminal confronts a Holocaust survivor. Joined by their children, Kai Höss and Maya Lasker-Wallfisch, the four engage in a profound exploration of their distinct legacies, navigating the complexities of history and the weight of their familial ties.
