The Stories (2026)

Spanning the late 1960s through the 1980s, this Egyptian family chronicle and romance centers on Ahmed, a young man from a middle-class Cairo household with ambitions of becoming a concert pianist. In the anxious summer of 1967, with war hanging over Egypt, he strikes up a correspondence by letter with an Austrian woman named Elizabeth, known as Liz. The film draws on the director's own parents and the story of how they first met.
