Distant Constellation (2017)

Set against the backdrop of an Istanbul retirement home, the narrative unfolds through the eyes of its resilient residents, who embrace the spotlight. A woman with a haunting voice recounts her experiences of the Armenian genocide, while a charmingly oblivious pianist plays his heart out before revealing his feelings. A blind photographer, experimenting with his flash, captures moments by directing his camera at the audience. Amid their poignant stories, the relentless advance of construction machinery signals a chilling change in their landscape, contrasting the past with an uncertain future.
