Long Shot (1978)

At the 1977 Edinburgh Film Festival, two scrappy filmmakers scramble to raise money, find actors, and convince legendary director Sam Fuller to helm their oil-rig adventure 'Gulf and Western,' set in Aberdeen's booming industry.
