I Only Rest in the Storm (2025)

Sergio lands in a sprawling West African city to lend his engineering skills to an NGO, overseeing a highway slicing through the divide between arid sands and lush jungle. Soon, he finds himself pulled into a fragile, lopsided affair with Diara and Gui, two locals who offer him a fleeting sense of belonging. As the expatriate crowd’s neo-colonial pretenses crumble around him, this delicate connection becomes his sole lifeline—warding off a descent into utter isolation or raw savagery.
