S43E16 Iceman Reborn

After being hunted, attacked, and left for dead over 5,000 years ago, Ötzi the Iceman stands as Europe’s oldest discovered natural mummy. Preserved in ice, his remarkably well-preserved body offers invaluable insights into a pivotal era of human existence. To safeguard his remains from contamination, Ötzi has been securely stored in a glacial crypt—until now. NOVA follows renowned paleo-sculptor Gary Staab, who has received special permission to access this frozen sanctuary. Tasked with crafting a precise replica of the Iceman, Gary’s work reveals new aspects of Ötzi’s life, including hidden secrets in his DNA.
