Mary's mother, Martha, comes to town, prompting Dick to reveal to her how Mary feels—that she blames her for ruining her childhood. Furious, Martha attempts to confront Dick but ends up tripping and landing in the hospital. When Dick visits her, she shares her perspective, leaving him deeply touched. He decides to support her through her healing process. Meanwhile, Harry and Sally face an unexpected shock when they toss their junk into the time space portal, as it leads to an encounter with a new alien.
